Higher Grounds of Maine is the East Coast's first coffee & cannabis shop. I transitioned them off WordPress and developed a custom-built static site, cutting their monthly hosting fees to $0 and ending an annual contract with an agency. Their prior design was presented in a generic template that didn't showcase their unique offerings compared to their many competitors in the booming cannabis market.
I consulted with the owners on how we could showcase how their shop and approach are different as one of the few independently owned dispensaries in Portland, Maine.
We had a few goals to improve their prior design:
I have worked with multiple clients in highly regulated industries. Oftentimes they require unique solutions, whether that be unconventional payment processors, specific e-commerce platforms, or terms and policy requirements that have to meet compliance and regulatory rules.
